Using these files with Cricut

Most people downloading here are cutting on a Maker, an Explore or a Joy. Start with the Cricut library, then follow the Design Space upload guide if this is your first cut.

What is an SVG file?

An SVG is a scalable vector graphic: instead of storing a grid of pixels the way a JPG or PNG does, it stores the mathematical paths that make up the artwork. That is why you can scale a design from a two-inch decal to a two-foot sign and the edges stay perfectly sharp. It is also why cutting machines can read it — the blade follows those same paths.

Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition and above), Brother ScanNCut, Glowforge and most other cutting and engraving machines accept SVG uploads. If your software will not take an SVG directly, a DXF usually works as a fallback, and we include one wherever the design allows it. Our guide to using SVG files walks through the upload step on each machine.

Every file on FreeSVG is free to download and free for personal projects — no account, no email address and no watermark on the artwork. If you are new to cut files, start with what an SVG file actually is and then how to upload one to Cricut Design Space.
